Building in healthcare is messy. We’re here to help.
Health Engine provides a free three-month cohort program to help promising healthcare startups find their footing, recruit talent, and plug into a community of mentors, investors, and students.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Health Engine recruits two cohorts each year. Fall cohort recruitment starts around August and winter cohort recruitment usually starts in December. We look at applications on a rolling basis. When the application form is released we will post on Twitter, LinkedIn, and here on our website.
-
Standup is held every week for founders to commune about their wins and losses in the past week. Founders are encouraged to bring questions and help each other navigate difficult situations. Standup is a great place for founders to interact with one another and has often been the start of new partnerships or introductions.
-
Demo Day is an event that takes place at the end of the cohort. Startups pitch for around 10 minutes each and respond to questions from the dozens of investors in attendance. Attendees are investors specifically working in healthcare or adjacent sectors.
-
Grants are provided through some of our partners like Roivant Sciences or SOMPO Digital Lab. Our partners look to support companies that align with their missions. Each cohort, we communicate with our partners to determine which companies would make good candidates for a grant, and set up a conversation from there.
